Sneaker Style + a Bra Gadget I Love

how to style 2022 wide leg trouser pants if petite
Pants: A+F xs short; See my review. Similar pant in a lighter weight fabric is fully stocked.

Sneakers: Veja sz 35, though this style is my top Veja pick for comfort and a slight platform

Top:
BR tank xxs petite (lots of colors) + Everlane sweater xxs

Accessories:
Edited Pieces belt xxs + ring, AK watch (resized), Polene bag, bra converter clip

First outfit in IG reel:
Naghedi woven tote (read my review), Gap cardigan xsp (so cute!), BR jeans 24p

You can see this outfit in motion in my reel video! I’ve been loving this year’s trend of a fitted tank with looser trousers and sneakers. It marries the more tailored silhouettes I usually gravitate towards with the ease of flat shoes, making the outfits much more practical for me like for school pick ups and park dates. With cooler weather upon us, I’ve been simply swapping this tank out for a fitted long sleeve striped tee like this.

The racerback cut has really had a comeback this year and I love how flattering the angling is for the shoulders and neckline. I’ll still be reaching for my tanks going into fall, layered under blazers or jackets that can be taken off at dinner or drinks.

I also love that you can usually wear a regular bra with racerback tops, sometimes with just a simple adjustment. This bra strap converter clip is such a handy tool that I’ve been using for a DECADE! It simply holds your straps together in the back, and you can wear it higher up in the back for racerback tanks that angle in more. In a pinch, you can also use safety pin or paperclip instead, but I find it 100% worth it to keep these converter clips in your bra drawer because they lay more comfortably and flat against your skin.

Any regular convertible bra with strap that unhook or clip together will work, too. If you’re a fan of the Neiwai bras, they currently do not have a convertible style, but True & Co (a similar brand) does.

hi! I came across your website and was so relieved to see your blog for petite bodies. I am 5’1″, 102lbs. I know you mentioned you are a tad shorter than 5’…do you mind sharing how much you weigh? I asking for size reference. Thank you so much!

Love this look! I’m too top heavy for the racerback (and too old) but I have similar pants that I will style with another top..as form fitting as possible.

The pants look a little long – do you think they’d work on someone a little shorter (4’11”)?

It would depend on what your leg inseam is and how high of a heel you usually wear. I’m 5’ tall for reference
