Colorful Summer Wedding Guest Dresses

blue color block tiered summer dress

I know quite a few of you have summer weddings and special events coming up so I wanted to round up a few more finds! I love going bolder with color and prints this time of year and wanted to share some vibrant picks across different price points. This tiered maxi dress (only $60!) is such a fun one that comes in other colorways (pink, yellow) and looks more expensive than the price tag in my opinion. Got lots of compliments just while taking these photos around Boston!

If you’re looking for the perfect elegant earring to finish off your special occasion looks, I just got this pearl drop pair in from Sophiya and am in love. As a pearl lover they’re an excellent balance of classic with a little statement, and are so lightweight you forget that you’re wearing them.

Under $100 – English Factory Dress

I fell in love with how breezy and striking the color block effect is on this dress, but as a heads up the fit is definitely looser and long on a petite frame. It is maternity friendly due to the flowiness, and nursing friendly as you can just pull down one of the elastic shoulders at a time. I was convinced by a review saying it was worth getting hemmed for petites, and the current sale price definitely helps toward any alteration costs!

For fit reference I’m wearing the dress in xs, I am 5 feet tall wearing platform sandals (3” heel + 1” platform) for the dress to be floor length, so I’d probably hem it about 2-3 inches so I can wear this with my more comfortable Vince Camuto or SM block heel sandals. I also have a small chest and the bust cups have a gathered effect with room on me to be filled out more, but I don’t mind the look.

Here are a few other places for more colorful special occasion dresses. I have treasured all of my pieces from Anthro and Reformation Petites over the years!

I used to think maxi dresses were made for taller women. I was wrong. I bought these dress and got it altered with the vivian drew and sophyia earings and the dress look so fabulous on me!

Please what shoes did you wear with the dress? I wish I purchased the YSL bag when saks had their major sale. Please i bought the beige rebecca minkoff chain wallet from nodstrom. Does it goes with the dress? Or what will you recommend.

Thank you, hope all is well with your loved ones!

So glad to hear that you love this dress, I would recommend pairing it with any sandal that you’re is comfortable in. I personally usually default to a block heel neutral sandal for comfort

Hi Jean, love the recs here! Petal & Pup is a new-to-me brand: Have you tried them on? Do you have additional comments on their sizing and fit?

Thank you Melody! I haven’t personally tried the Petal & Pup dresses – my friend has several dresses from them and the quality seems nice, especially for the price. She’s taller though, so I shared dresses that have some sort of adjustment built in (like adjustable strap length) or that reviews noted ran small.
