See my IG reel for a video of this outfit + a small hack! While editing my closet, there were a few small gaps in my wardrobe that I’ve been keeping an eye out for when shopping. I’ve been searching for a comfortable nude flat slide sandal, a more minimal version of my beloved block heel sandals, plus lighter-toned sunglasses for when black sunnies feel too stark. For today’s post I’m partnering with Nordstrom to share a few finds I picked up over the past few weeks that fit the bill.

I also wanted to share a few notes on this sleeveless tiered dress that comes in two colors. Even though it’s regular sizing, the xxs fits me as a midi-maxi length dress. It’s great quality for the price (under $100!) and is 100% crisp cotton poplin and fully lined in cotton as well. It has convenient pockets and a full skirt and feels substantial!

1. Feminine Flat Sandal

I wanted a neutral flat sandal that was easy to slip on and off (no bending over to buckle ankle straps) but also with a little support. So many flat sandals I tried on were flat as a wooden board and felt like one, too. I’ve been eying these Sam Edelman sandals since last year and was finally sold by their newest patent “almond” shade. After wearing them a bit more around town I can tell I’m going to get a ton of wear out of these. They feel feminine and sleek with a little cushioned pad inside. “Almond” has proven to be very versatile for me, but it was tough choosing amongst their myriad of colors like cognac brown, black, and white!

Sizing: I’m typically between size 5 and 5.5 in most shoes, and both sizes worked when I tried them on. I ended up going with the smaller size 5 so that the band would fit more snugly around my feet, since leather may stretch a little with wear.

2. Minimalist Block Heel Sandal

I wear my Dolce Vita sandals so much in the summer but have been wanting something with more minimalist straps. Part of what makes the DV so comfortable though is the puffiness and width of the straps, and in general, as strap width becomes narrower it’s more likely to dig into your feet.

These Steve Madden sandals are fairly comfortable with an overall classic silhouette, and are also on-trend thanks to the slightly squared toe shape. They work well with jeans and trousers as well as dresses. The strap that goes over the top of your foot has a little piece of elastic in it and stretches a bit, but the lower strap that goes across the toes does not stretch.

Sizing: I also tried on both 5 and 5.5 in these. The 5 was a little too snug across my toes at the lower strap so I went with the 5.5 which felt better!

3. Neutral Sunglasses

You guys know how much I love my black Quay sunglasses which I still get compliments on years later. Most of my sunglasses are either dark or white, but I love having a more subtle neutral pair for softer-toned outfits. I have an old pink-brown BP pair that I always get questions about, and finally found a very similar option in these Beige cat eye sunglasses! Bonus: only $15.

question: are these petite sunglasses? like for petite/narrow faces? or just nice sunglasses, but regular-sized? (thanks! I’m just on a never-ending quest for child-sized adult glasses for my child-sized – but definitely adult – width head…)

They are just standard size sunglasses but both the Quay and the BP work on my nose bridge
